CDTSA Practical Shotgun – May 31
CDTSA Practical Shotgun matches use 3-Gun Nation scoring and penalties, but are not sanctioned 3GN matches.

PLEASE NOTE: Access our range via RR 223 and backtrack along TWP 184. We have an agreement in place with the county that states that we will not use RR 224.

Registration for CDTSA members only will start at 8:00AM on May 6th for 24 hours. Non-members who register during that time will be wait-listed for 24 hours after general registration opens.

SHOTGUN DIVISIONS:
CDTSA officially recognized divisions for PRACTICAL SHOTGUN matches only.
SHOTGUN DIVISIONAL CALIBER REQUIREMENTS
a) Shotgun: 20ga min/12ga max
UNLIMITED SHOTGUN DIVISION
12.1.1 No limitations on accessories.
12.1.2 The changing of barrel length is not allowed in the Unlimited Division.
12.1.3 Shotgun speed loaders are allowed in Unlimited
a) Shotgun speed loaders must be the type with the primer relief cut.
b) Use of shotgun speed loaders without the primer relief cut is a safety violation, resulting in a match DQ.
12.1.4 Shotguns in Unlimited Division have no capacity limitations within the provisions of the Firearms Act.
12.1.5 The “Stage Ready Condition” for all shotguns shall be magazine tube or box magazine and chamber loaded with the safety engaged, unless stipulated otherwise in the Written Stage Briefing.
PRACTICAL SHOTGUN DIVISION
12.2.1 Firearms must function and operate as in the original factory configuration.
12.2.2 Internal and External modifications are allowed, provided the modifications do not alter the original function and operation of the firearm.
Note: An exception is made for Welded or Pro Lifter modifications that allow the carrier to stay in a raised position when the bolt is closed, these modifications are Allowed in this division.
12.2.3 Only conventional tubular magazine fed shotguns allowed in this division.
12.2.4 Barrel length may not be changed for the duration of the event.
12.2.5 No electronic or optical sights allowed on shotguns in this division.
12.2.6 No shotgun supporting devices (i.e. bipods, etc.) allowed in this division.
12.2.7 No compensators or porting on barrels allowed in this division.
12.2.8 No shotgun speed loaders allowed in this division.
12.2.9 Practical Division shotguns shall not start a COF with more than nine (9) shells total in the shotgun. If capacity allows, loading additional shells after the start is permitted.
12.2.10 The “Stage Ready Condition” for all shotguns shall be magazine tube and chamber loaded with safety engaged, unless stipulated otherwise in the Written Stage Briefing.
MANUAL ACTION SHOTGUN DIVISION
12.3.1 Shotguns in this division must require manual manipulation to cycle the action. Pump, Lever and Bolt action shotgun are allowed.
12.3.2 Conventional tubular magazine and detachable box magazine fed shotguns are allowed in this division.
12.3.3 Barrel length may not be changed for the duration of the event.
12.3.4 Electronic or optical sights are allowed on shotguns in this division.
12.3.5 Shotgun speed loaders are allowed in this division.

12.4 JUST FOR FUN
Just for Fun is a class intended for anyone who wants to try out Practical Shotgun, but doesn’t have the correct equipment to participate in one of the other divisions. Those with the proper equipment are strongly encouraged to register in one of the existing divisions. While this division exists to accommodate those without the proper equipment, it may not be practical to use certain firearms during a Practical Shotgun match. Break Action single or double barrel shotguns are not suitable.
