Lake County IDPA SO Class

IDPA is a volunteer run sport and we are always looking for more volunteers to step up and assist with running matches. Becoming a certified SO is a great first step in helping with matches.
This will be an 8 hour IDPA SO training course instructed by Ben Watson, consisting of roughly 4-5 hours of classroom time and 3 hours of range time.
Those wishing to Sign up will need to have a valid IDPA membership for the past 6 months and have shot at least 6 Tier 1 or above matches. Participants will also need to have a working knowledge of the current 2026 IDPA rule books. Fee for this class will be $0 per student to be paid at the class. NON EGC Members will be responsible for the $10 visitors fee. To be allowed to attend all new candidates will need to fill-out and return the SO Application (Below in Documents section)and a copy of your SO pre-exam (on you IDPA Dashboard above shooting history on IDPA.com) which you will need to take and pass with a score of 70% or better. Please print out any questions you miss during the exam and bring them with you to the class for discussion during our lunch “break”.
Current Safety Officers and Chief Safety Officers are welcome to sit in on the class as a refresher at no cost.
