SUMMARY:Windrock Ladies Intro to Competition Match (Sponsored by 3GunKenzie)
DESCRIPTION:This women-only match is designed to introduce women to various shooting sports. We will have one stage dedicated to each shooting discipline: IDPA\, Steel Challenge\, USPSA\, PSCL\, and an Outlaw Style stage. These stages will be simple\, but will challenge your ability to transition from one target to the next\, reload\, and shoot accurately. This match isn’t about speed or impressing anyone; it is about learning about the different shooting sports to see what you might be interested in trying in the future. \nAt each stage\, you will be read a stage brief just like you would see at one of these shooting competitions. 3GunKenzie and other professional competitive shooters will break down each stage with the group of shooters and conduct a walkthrough to explain how you might approach it. She will then demonstrate by shooting each stage and course of fire first\, so you will have a practical understanding of how to execute shooting a stage. She will then walk through the scoring of each shooting sport and answer any questions you might have. \nIf you have your own gear for any of these shooting sports\, you are welcome to bring it and use it. If you have no experience with your gear/setup\, please share that with 3GunKenzie\, as we want all shooters to be safe and know how to use their gear. Your belt\, holster\, and magazine pouches need to be legal for at least one shooting sport (rigid competition/IDPA belt\, dedicated holster with proper retention for your firearm\, structured magazine pouches also designed with proper retention for your firearm’s magazines). It doesn’t matter if you only have a USPSA-style belt that is not legal for IDPA; the goal is to learn the shooting sport without having to change belts\, holsters\, or setups for each stage if you don’t want to. If you want to change setups\, you will need to visit a safe table. No inside-the-waistband holsters will be allowed for this match. We will work only with outside-the-waistband holsters. There will be no Sticky holsters or Uncle Mike’s holsters allowed\, for example\, or anything that is not designed to properly retain a firearm. 3GunKenzie will make the final decision on gear if any item is unsafe for use.
\nIf you do not own a belt setup with a holster and magazine pouches\, that’s okay. 3GunKenzie will have demo setups at this match for each stage\, allowing anyone to try different gear. If you are uncomfortable drawing from a holster\, you may start at the low ready. We would rather you be safe and learn the sport\, without worrying about doing something for the first time at a shooting match. We will reiterate that there is zero pressure to perform or expectation to have super-fast stage times. We understand that a timer will be used to show how a shooting sport is timed and scored\, but we do not want women to feel pressured to perform unsafe actions due to the pressure of shooting with a timer. If you feel uncomfortable with being timed\, please let us know at each stage. We can run you through the stage without a timer if you prefer. \nRequired Gear:\nYou must have proper shooting eyewear and hearing protection. These must be worn at all times on the range. We will be shooting at steel targets\, and there’s always the chance you can be hit with shrapnel. If you wear prescription glasses\, those are acceptable. We recommend purchasing side shields to prevent debris from entering through the sides of your lenses/glasses. \nBelow are estimates of what each stage will require (subject to change). Please plan to bring extra ammunition. Occassionally a reshoot might occur\, and you’ll need to shoot the stage over again. \nAmmunition\, Round Counts\, Magazine Quantities (Estimates):\nIDPA Stage – 9mm Only. 16 rounds to clean it\, so we recommend bringing extra ammunition (25-30 rounds) for makeup shots. 2-3 Magazines needed. 1-2 Magazine Pouches. \nIDPA Match Rules \n\nSteel Challenge Stage – 9mm or .22LR. We will be shooting Smoke & Hope (https://scsa.org/resources/scsa_stages/smoke_and_hope.pdf). This stage requires 5 strings\, so clean would mean 25 rounds. We recommend bringing 50 rounds in your choice of ammunition. No magazine pouches are needed. For .22LR\, you need 5 10-round magazines OR 2-3 larger capacity magazines to get through the stage without having to reload. For 9mm\, depending on your firearm choice\, you might only need 2-3 magazines. For example\, if your pistol has 17-18 round magazines\, you can use one magazine for 2-3 strings (depending on how many makeup shots you take).\nhttps://scsa.org/rules\nUSPSA Stage – 9mm Only. 24 rounds to clean it\, so we recommend bringing extra ammunition (40-50 rounds) for makeup shots. 2 Magazines needed. 1 Magazine Pouch.\nhttps://uspsa.org/rules\nPSCL – 9mm Only. 20 rounds to clean it. Recommended to bring 40-50. 2 Magazines. 1 Magazine Pouch.\nhttps://www.pcsleague.us/\nOutlaw Style – 9mm Only. 30 rounds to clean it. Recommended to bring 50. 2-3 Magazines. 1-2 Magazine Pouches. \nPlease reach out to mailto:Kenzie@3GunKenzie.com if you have any other questions. Windrock Shooting Range is also happy to answer any questions you might have.

SUMMARY:Littlestown Open Steel 20 June
DESCRIPTION:This is the Littlestown Open Steel match for Saturday\, 20 June 2026\nWe usually have 3 stages of 6 to 12 targets\, including one “different” stage. For shooters who want “more shooting” we will be running up to 5 strings per stage\, if you don’t have (or want to use up) that much ammo you can elect to only shoot 3 strings\, or skip a stage entirely to save ammo for another stage. Strictly shooter’s choice\, just let the Range Officers know what you want to do. Practicing “ammo management” should keep the round count in the 100-120 range\, plus however many times you plan to miss. We also try to be “revolver friendly” setting up the stages with a sub-group of 5 or 6 targets if you want to try using a revolver or 1911 without reloading. We usually have room for walk-in registrants\, so if you know someone who is not on Practiscore who wants to shoot\, tell them to come on out.\nIn recognition of the ammunition situation\, we are opening up all squads to rim fire in addition to center fire. Bring out your .22 handguns & carbines and join the .380 to .45 fun!\nThe fee for this match is $10 cash paid at sign in. Sign in starts at 8:00 AM\, if you want to show up a little earlier we always appreciate help setting up the targets. There will be a safety briefing at 8:50\, and we start shooting at 9:00.\nOne operational note: when you start shooting a stage\, you must have enough ammunition on your person loaded in magazines (or some type of loading device if you are shooting a revolver) to complete the stage. Once you enter the shooter’s box\, there will be no loading of magazines allowed; if you run all of your magazines dry that will end your stage. We strongly recommend having at least 50 rounds loaded and ready. A magazine reloading area will be provided at each stage\, and you can reload magazines at any time while others are shooting. Please also note that\, in the interest of time\, this will be a “lost brass” event: it would complicate things too much to allow retrieval of spent brass. More details will be provided at Saturday morning’s briefing.\nOnce again\, welcome to Littlestown Open Steel!
