SUMMARY:Pioneer Sportsmen Steel Challenge 7-11-2026
DESCRIPTION:Our mission is to provide a venue for Steel Challenge (SCSA) shooting and matches and to promote safe\, fair and fun participation in Steel Shooting competition. Pioneer’s outdoor shooting bays are well suited for steel challenge stages and we have first-class equipment that allow us to offer up to eight standard Steel Challenge stages at every match. We’re known for our capable\, experienced and friendly staff.\nSteel challenge is a unique shooting discipline in many ways. The simple and consistent layout combined with a mostly stationary shooter and multiple strings is well suited to shooters of all ages and levels. In addition\, the many divisions offered means that virtually any style gun may be used for competition as long as they are rim fire or pistol caliber. Each division is scored separately so shooters can directly compare themselves with their peers. Although the stages are rather simple\, the goal is to shoot each stage as quickly as possible and even the quickest and most experienced shooters continue to strive to overcome their limitations and improve their performance.\nMatches are typically held the first Saturday of every month April through November.\nNote: Match and Range specific rule (violation subject to match DQ):\n– Cold range; empty magazine well and no rounds in chamber.\n– Please observe PSI range rule of muzzle direction kept below top of berms\, even when reloading.\n– Match policies and procedures:\nPre-registration and early registration only.\nPre-registration and scores at Practiscore.com\nAssigned squads\n– Only one gun/run allowed on match day; those helping with set-up can shoot a second gun then. Please register with each gun on Practiscore.com\n– Match fees (all guns/runs): $25 for registered Pioneer members\, $30 for non-members and juniors (under 18 on first day of match) shoot free. Fees will be waived for a limited number of staff slots.\n-Check-in between 7:45 and 8:45 at tent beside clubhouse\n– Safety briefing at 8:45 AM at first stage and match begins at 9:00 AM\n– Six to seven stages this match\n– Scores will be uploaded to USPSA and count toward shooter classification (if SCSA/USPSA member)\nPioneer Sportsmen has a policy that shooters on their bays must keep their muzzles below the berms at all times while shooting including when reloading (revolvers excluded when reloading). This applies to all shooting on the range including during sanctioned matches. Members\, including those who are match officials\, are required to warn shooters of infractions and have the authority to ban shooters from the range after three infractions. This could result in a flight DNF and inability to continue shooting later in the match. USPSA/SCSA supports Pioneer’s right to enforce this policy. Please respect our policy and avoid infractions.\nBy attending or participating in any event at Pioneer Sportsmen\, Inc.\, I acknowledge and agree to the following regarding media release and consent:\n1.	CONSENT TO MEDIA CAPTURE\nI understand that photography\, video\, and audio recording may occur at events held on club property or under the club’s direction. I give full permission to be recorded\, photographed\, or otherwise captured while participating\, spectating\, or being present at any such event.\n2.	GRANT OF RIGHTS\nI grant Pioneer Sportsmen\, Inc.\, its representatives\, volunteers\, match officials\, affiliated clubs\, event organizers\, and event sponsors the unrestricted right to use\, reproduce\, and publish my image\, likeness\, or voice for lawful purposes related to the club or its events. This includes the right to share such media with sponsors and partners for related promotional use.\n3.	NO COMPENSATION OR RIGHT OF REVIEW\nI understand that:\n– I will not receive any payment or compensation for the use of my likeness\n – I waive any right to inspect\, approve\, or control the use of any media in which I may appear.\n– I release all parties listed above from any claims arising out of the use of such media\n4.	BINDING AGREEMENT\nThis release is binding upon me and my heirs\, executors\, and legal representatives. If the participant is a minor\, I confirm that I am the parent or legal guardian and agree to these terms on their behalf.\nBrian Kruszewski from Off Trigger Firearms has generously donated a Ruger 10/22 with Simons Pro Rimfire scope to be randomly drawn from all registered shooters before the match.\nIf you have questions\, please email Matthew.poulin@comcast.net

SUMMARY:CCGCI 2 Gun Match July 11\, 2026
DESCRIPTION:The Central Carolina 2 Gun Match is a fun match with rifle and pistol\, generally around 125-130 rounds of ammunition minimum with a leaning generally for more rifle rounds than pistol.\nHours are now SUMMER.\nCheck in/Registration and payment at 8 am\nMandatory Safety Briefing at 8:45 am\nShooting Starts at 9 am.\nWe have very basic equipment requirements and are a great match for new shooters to start at. The match consists of 4 stages with descriptions to follow for each stage\, scoring is time plus and most stages allow you to make up shots to get the best possible score.\nWe are very accepting of various types of equipment\, perfect for testing out that new trunk gun or home defense gun that might not fit into matches elsewhere.\nIF YOU WANT TO SHOOT WITH SOMEONE ELSE SPECIFICALLY:\nMake sure to contact them and organize who will register FIRST and get a GROUP CODE for everyone else to use. Because we try to have 4 squads at each match with 45+ shooters\, this often requires us to move shooters around the night before the match. If we don’t know you want to shoot with anyone in particular you CAN and possibly may get moved to help us keep squad sizes even. Trying to sort this out the morning of the match delays the start of our shooting\, so please make sure to take care of this UP FRONT when you register and squad so we can see.\nFinal ammunition numbers are posted approximately a week before at this address along with further information and some images from our match.\nhttp://centralcarolinagunclub.wildapricot.org/page-1788404

Learn more at mission22.org.\n———————————————-\n2026 Thurmont PCSL 2gun matches are similar to 3GUN but use only a pistol and carbine. The matches are conducted according to PCSL rules\, hit factor scoring. The rules are strict and the safety procedures must be followed exactly. Violations of the rules may result in disqualification and/or expulsion from the match. If you are unfamiliar with these rules\, study them carefully before registering for your first match. Target distances will vary per match and can be from approximately 5 to 300 yards. Because of the scoring\, we strongly recommend that you know your zero and holds out to 300 yards. The long distance stage can make or break your match. 6 Stages\, round count is approximately 100 rifle\, 100 pistol. Bring a rifle sling as some stages may require one.\nRULES:\nPractical Competition Shooting League Rule: https://www.pcsleague.us/\nSAFETY AREAS:\nThurmont is a COLD range. Firearms must be unloaded at all times except during the match under the direct supervision of a safety officer (SO). Handling of firearms at vehicles is prohibited. Long guns must have an EMPTY CHAMBER INDICATOR (Chamber Flag) IN PLACE at all times starting from the moment the rifle is uncased for placement in a gun cart or slung. Pistols must be unbagged and holstered ONLY at designated safety areas. EARTHEN side berms behind the line of fire are the safety areas. On many of the bays\, there are tables with roofing labeled “loading” and “unloading” that are CASS (cowboy) and DO NOT apply to 2GUN. NO AMMUNITION HANDLING in safety areas. Note that cinder block and plywood walls ARE NOT safety areas. Use of suppressors is not prohibited but the match director can not assure accurate times. Magnetic\, steel core\, steel (bimetal) jacketed ammunition is STRICTLY PROHIBITED.\nREGISTRATION AND SQUADDING:\nAll registration and squadding is done exclusively via Practiscore up until 6PM the day prior to the match\, at which time registration closes. Steps are as follows:\n1) Register via Practiscore\n2) You will receive a confirmation email from Practiscore verifying receipt of your registration. If you don’t receive the confirmation email\, check that your email address was entered correctly or the confirmation went to your spam folder (so check it).\n3) You will receive a second email from Practiscore that you have been approved by the match director to attend the match and to squad yourself. You are responsible for selecting your squad. If you don’t receive the approval to squad then the match is full (even though the squad list may still show openings). If you receive the approval to squad email but you fail to squad yourself by 6 PM the day before the match\, you will NOT be allowed to shoot. Walk-ons the day of the match are NOT ALLOWED to shoot the match. The match director does not maintain a wait list for this match. If you wish to shoot with specific people\, it is highly recommend that you register and squad early. We will not be able to accommodate squad changes on the day of the match.\nCANCELLATION POLICY:\nIf you are registered and squadded but need to cancel\, it is very important to withdraw from the match as soon as possible\, and no later than 3PM the day before the match. If “stuff happens” (i.e. life) after 3PM\, withdraw anyway and simultaneously email the match director even up to the morning of the match. Repeated no-shows without prior notification will jeopardize future approvals.\nFees: $60. A portion of the fees will be donated to Mission 22. Please bring exact change and consider bringing extra cash for the raffles.\nRegistration: 8:30 am\nSafety Brief: 8:45 am\nHammer Down: 9:00 am
