DESCRIPTION:To get involved you don’t need a DGRC or NRL22 membership – while a DGRC membership will save you on Range fees it’s not required. The NRL22 membership is only required if you want to report your score up to the National Org level because you’re vying to go to the big national level matches.\nIn terms of getting started\, you can roll with a 10/22 (there are some specific safety things that we will go over with regards to a semi-auto)…you just need to have a good scope (preferably with a X-mas Tree Reticle) and a detachable bi-pod.\nLet me know if you have any further questions! SUMMARY:Homestead July 2026 Steel Challenge Match
DESCRIPTION:Thank for the registering for 8 stage Steel Challenge Match conducted by Homestead Training Center.\nSteel Challenge shooting competitions are governed by the Steel Challenge Shooting Association.\nMatch consists of eight stages\, each of which has five steel targets that range from round ten-inch plates to eighteen-inch by twenty-four-inch rectangular plates.\nEach competitor in the competition will be scored based on the length of time it takes for them to complete each of the stages. The winner of the competition is the competitor who has the lowest overall time.\nA competitor will get a total of five strings per stage\, shooting each stage five times. To establish the competitor’s match score\, the five stage scores will be added together.\nOne hit is required per target\, for each string. The competitor is allowed an unlimited number of rounds. The stop plate is the last target to be shot in a stage. As soon as the stop plate has been struck\, the timer will stop. Any targets that are hit after the stop plate has been hit will come with a three-second penalty per hit. For a run\, there is a maximum time limit of thirty seconds. The competitor will have to stop and reload if they reach the thirty-second-time limit.\nPLEASE MAKE SURE TO COME EARLIER – WE WILL START REGISTRATION AT 7:45am and STOP AT 8:10am SHARP!  MATCH WILL START at 8:30am.\nNumber of the shooters will be limited to no more than 10 guns per squad.\nEntry fee for each gun/division – $30 payable at the match. No more than two entries per shooter. Designed to be extremely fun for beginners and seasoned shooters alike. This is a very youth friendly competition as well!\n• This is a “Match in a can” where each months match we will be competing against competitors all over the country shooting the same COF. There are monthly prize drawings held for NRL.22 members who competed that month. Speed and accuracy are both important in this competition.\n• What is needed to compete?\n• A .22lr rifle with a detachable magazine\n• A scope that will permit you to engage targets at various distances (My preference is a scope with MIL/MOA hashmarks\, but any scope that gives you the ability to shoot various distances will work)\n• Bipod\n• Other equipment that would be nice would be a shooting bag like a gamechanger\, DOPE card\, binos\, Spotting scope\, ballistic calculator app\, etc. There is NO NEED to go buy a bunch of gear before your first match\, plenty of people will be there to lend out gear.\nThis is a COLD range- There will be zero tolerance for any muzzle flagging at this match.
