DESCRIPTION:22LR Falling Steel Match at Sharpshooters Indoor Range (Cold Range\, make sure all firearms are completely empty before coming in the store).\nA head-to-head match where 2 shooters compete to knock down five 6″x 8″ steel plates from their respective sides\, using only 22LR Rifles or Pistols\, 10 rounds max. They are usually conducted as a double-elimination match with one-time buy-ins for $5 up to the 3rd round. New shooters will shoot at least 3 times. If there are fewer than 16 entries\, we may go to triple elimination with no buy-ins. Pairing is randomized as much as possible\, but repeat pairings will occur. There are 2 separate divisions\, Rimfire Rifle and Rimfire Pistol (any sighting system). A free match pass is presented to each division winner. Sponsored shooters are not eligible. All scores will be posted on the Upstate Sport Shooting Group FB page. Minimum Equipment: Rifle must have a safety flag\, 2 mags loaded to 10\, eye and ear protection. Pistol in a safely secured container (Holster\, Range Tray\, Range Bag\, or zippered gun rug)\, 2 mags loaded to 10\, eye and ear protection.\nYou may sign up for 2 divisions. There will be a $5 fee for a second division.\nIf the shooters tie in their round\, they will be loaded up with another 10 rds to break the tie. If all plates are knocked down in a tie\, 2 plates will be set up for each shooter to resolve the tie. SUMMARY:Heartland Steel Challenge League June 11th
DESCRIPTION:Steel Challenge is a speed shooting competition governed by the Steel Challenge Shooting Association (SCSA) that consists of eight standardized stages with steel targets in three sizes; small circular (10”)\, large circular (12”) and rectangular (18×24”) targets. Competitors are scored solely by the time it takes them to complete each stage\, and the match winner is the competitor with the lowest overall time.\nThere will be 3 stages with 5 steel targets on each. Shooters get five runs on each stage. Each competitor shoots each stage five times\, with their slowest run dropped. The counting times are totaled for their stage score\, and the 4 stage scores are added together to establish the competitor’s match score.\nFor each run\, one hit per target is required\, with an unlimited number of rounds. The last target to be shot is known as the “stop plate”\, which stops the timer. Any primary targets that have not been hit after the stop plate has been struck\, will be scored with a 3-second penalty each. The maximum time permitted for a run is 30 seconds and a competitor will be stopped and asked to reload if they reach the 30 second limit.

Match fee is $10 per person\, second gun is $10\, Juniors 17 y/o and younger are free. Please make sure to bring a bag for your firearm or an appropriate belt holster. Safety flags are required for all PCC’s and Rimfire Rifle’s. Slings are not allowed. A par time will be set at 30 sec on the timer. The minimum and maximum calibers are 22LR\, 9mm – 45 auto.
