DESCRIPTION:For this match we want to give shooters an opportunity to test their precision shooting skills with modern semi-auto rifle platforms in a format that can be shot on a weekday evening.\nThere are two squads each with a different start time.\nSquad 1: 4 pm to 5 pm\nSquad 2: 5 pm to 6 pm\nThe match will have two stages with multiple shooting positions. Targets will be around 500 or 400 yards and generally 2 MOA to 4 MOA\nScoring will be points\, and time from both stages as tie breaker.\nPlease arrive by the start time of your squad. Thank you.\nStages.\n        Unless the stage description states otherwise\, stages will have a 90 second par time\, a 20 round limit and targets do NOT need to be hit to move on but once you move on that target is a miss you must declare you are moving on. If a target is engaged out of sequence then the shooter may engage the missed target and continue the sequence in the correct order.\nStages will have at least 2 distinct shooting positions\, and between 8 and 12 required hits.\nDivisions\n  Open\n     Cartridge\n        Any intermediate cartridge that will operate in a standard AR-15 sized platform. Basically anything based on a 7.62×39 or smaller cartridge.\n      Gear\n         Any combination of bi-pod or bags\n         Any magnification\n  Limited\n     Cartridge\n        Any intermediate cartridge that will operate in a standard AR-15 sized platform. Basically anything based on a 7.62×39 or smaller cartridge.\n     Gear\n        1 bag or bi-pod\n        10x max\n  Service\n     Cartridge\n        Must be either 556/223/5.45×39 or 7.62×39\n     Gear\n      No stabilizing support gear\, such as a bi-pod or bag\n      Any magnification\n     NOTE. There is no heavy metal division\, so no 308 or larger based cartridges are allowed.\nScoring.\n  Targets hit and time from both stages as tie breaker.\n  Time will be last shot fired even if the shooters reaches par time before finishing the course of fire.\nShooter categories\n        Shooter categories are on the honor system and really about the limits you want to place on yourself.\n  Expert – You shoot other precision rifle matches regularly and are usually above 75%\nNo coaching of any kind during the stage. SUMMARY:Blue Ridge BRSC Falling Steel August 14-15
DESCRIPTION:The match consists of 5 stages with each stage having 21-30 steel targets that must fall to be counted.\nHandguns are limited to 10 rounds in the magazine unless in the Open Unlimited division while PCC’s have unlimited magazine capacity. There are no par times or ammo limits. Shoot until you knock all targets down or you run out of ammo. Pistol calibers only! This is a centerfire match; rimfires will not reliably knock the steel down. All targets are 8” diameter or larger total square inches and placed 10-20 yards from the shooter’s table. Start position is with safety engaged and muzzle touching the table. No holster draws to start. Reloads can come off the table or off the belt. Guns need to be bagged or holstered until the “Make ready” command is issued by the range safety officer. This is a cold range. Eye and ear protection is required for all competitors and spectators. Unsafe acts will not be tolerated.\nGun divisions include:\nSA-Stock auto: iron sights and no compensators\nOA-Open auto: Any sights\, optics and compensators are allowed\nOU-Open Unlimited: any sights\, optics\, comps allowed. NO mag capacity limits.\nUNC-Unclassified: different guns and divisions may be used on different stages\nISR-Stock revolver: Iron sights\, no capacity limits\nL6-Limited 6: Iron sight 6 round revolver\, moon clips or speed loaders allowed\nOSR-Open revolver: any sights\, optics\, compensator\, and capacity allowed\nPCC-Pistol Caliber Carbine with any sights\, optics and compensators\nSign in and pay at the pistol bays between 4 and 4:30 pm on Friday afternoon.\nSaturday morning sign in and pay at the pistol bays between 8 and 8:30 am.\nShooter’s safety briefing at 4:45 pm and 8:45 am.\nHammer down at 5 pm and 9 am\nThe match is usually finished by 8pm and noon. Help with breaking down the match is greatly appreciated after Saturday’s relay.\nFriday afternoon matches have sign-in 4-4:30 pm and hammer down at 5 pm EXCEPT the November 15 NIGHT SHOOT when sign-in is 5-5:30 and hammer down at 6 pm (1 hour after sunset).
