SUMMARY:Service Pistol Course - for NSCC - 27-28 June 2026
DESCRIPTION:Google Directions for Langemark Gate: https://maps.app.goo.gl/o26fswaVjQdT6g8k7\nQuestions? Head Coach: Coach Sammy craig@coachsammy.ca\nRSO:\nService Pistol is a provincial series of matches at the ORA and part of the National Championship called NSCC (National Service Conditions Competition) that is shot at CFB Borden on 7/8 Sept 2026.\nIt is a series of matches that focus on precision and rapid-fire competitions simulating police or military scenarios. Using standard service handguns\, shooters engage targets from 5m to 35m from various stances—standing\, kneeling\, sitting\, and prone\, emphasizing marksmanship under time pressure. There is a strong emphasis on marksmanship fundamentals\, including matches shot with strong hand only\, weak hand only\, and transitions from strong hand to weak hand.\nCivilian Competitors can expect to shoot along side Military\, Law Enforcement and Nuclear SWAT. You can compete as an individual and as a team which can make it fun to do with friends.\nNSCC style Service Pistol Shooting is a challenging and fun match series and teaches you to be accurate and precise under time pressure. Highly recommended style of pistol shooting and will make you a better pistol shooter\, as well as it’s exciting to shoot the NSCC Nationals.\nParticipants will learn about NSCC course of fire\, the rules on engagement and safety requirements\, how to shoot the matches\, as well as shoot as many matches as possible during this 2 day course.\nWhat this course is:\n– Learning about Service Pistol as well as being coached to shoot Service Pistol matches for NSCC competition.\n– Successful participants will learn enough on this course to be competitive at NSCC\, and Operational Pistol Championship held at Milcun in the fall\, or ORA provincial Service Pistol matches.\nWhat this course is not:\n– It is not a pistol course to learn how to how to shoot a pistol\, you should already know how to shoot\, but you will learn to be a better pistol shooter on the course through the exercises.\nWhat you will learn at the Course:\n– Shoot up to 200+ rounds & learn to shoot the NSCC matches. You will learn to focus on small centered groups\, and you will zero your pistol and centre your group.\nWhat you Need to attend:\n1.	Your Experience:\n– You should be well-acquainted with your pistol and how it operates\, including the ability to field strip and clean it.\n– You must have fired a minimum 1000 rounds with your pistol that will be used on the course.\n– Know how to zero your Iron sights or Red Dot optic\, and have the tools needed to do that.\n– For Safety Reasons if your Pistol or Optic is non-functional on the course\, you will be pulled from the course.\n2. ORA Membership + Waiver\nIf you are NOT an ORA 2026 Member\, you must register as a Guest\,\nand you must sign the Guest & Handload Ammo Waiver. Copy this link into your browser and sign every time you are a guest.\nLink: https://waivers.targetscore.com/d/RGv5jeWGv8AJmt\nORA Guest fee is $45\, and you must tick the Guest Fee box in Practiscore when paying and it adds the $45 Guest fee to your payment.\n(ORA allows you to attend twice as Guest\, and then you must Join ORA the cost ranges from $0 to $195. If you want to Join ORA sign up online at this link): https://ontariorifleassociation.ca/membership-types/\n3. An ATT is required to bring a Pistol (restricted firearm) to a CAF Military Range. Standard ATT’s you receive with your RPAL do NOT cover it.\nA. If you are a member of ORA – email Greg Delbridge: greg.delbridge@gmail.com and request an ATT for a restricted pistol for the ORA at CFB Borden.\nB. If you are not a member of the ORA:\n– go online RCMP / CFO and request an ATT for your Pistol.\nRange: CFB Borden\, Club: ORA\nAddress: CFB Borden\, Langemark Range\, Range Road\, Borden\, L0M 1C0\nWeblink below: (cut and paste in your browser)\nhttps://www.services.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/chooser-eng.html?ipeReferer=eCFISIWS\nWhat you need to bring:\n– Pistol Belt with Holster\, and a min. of 3 magazine pouches\n– RPAL & registration for your pistol\n– ATT for your Pistol for CFB Borden\n– Your pistol (that is on your ATT)\n– Your pistol can have Iron sights or a Red dot optic (mounted to the slide only).\n– Min. of 3 magazines for your pistol\n– up to 200 rounds of factory match ammo or safe Hand-Load ammo minimum.\n All competitors must use full power ammunition as would be suitable for general\n operations. This power factor is reached by multiplying the velocity in feet per\n second by the bullet weight in grains and then dividing by 1000. For 9mm ammunition\n the power factor must be 130 or greater. For 40 and 45 caliber the power factor\n must be 170 or greater.\n– Tools – All tools to adjust sights or red dot\, or any maintenance for your pistol\n– Electronic Ears w/ Spare batteries. MANDATORY.\n You must be able to hear Range Commands. For safety reasons anyone not hearing\n or understanding range commands will be pulled from the event.\n– Eye Protection MANDATORY.\n– Sun Hat MANDATORY.\n– Sunscreen MANDATORY.\n– Water Minimum 5L\, preferably w/ Electrolytes. MANDATORY.\n You will be required to show your water. For Health and Safety reasons if you have\n signs of Heat Related Illness you will be pulled from the Course.\n-Snacks & lunch. There is nothing is available on site\, and no time to leave the range.\n– Appropriate clothing for the weather. We shoot rain or extreme heat. DO NOT WEAR BLACK CLOTHING. Wear light coloured and loose fitting clothing.\n– You may bring a Pop Up Tent to shelter under.\n– Work Gloves for Targets\n– Pens & Paper (Or device) for Notes\n– Allergic to anything? If so\, it’s mandatory to bring an EpiPen\, Antihistamines\, Benadryl etc. There will not be any on site as we cannot administer medication.\nCost and Course Details:\n– Course Cost is $400 (If a not an ORA Member + $45 ORA Guest fee)\n– Read course material sent to you in advance by email on 2nd June\n– Attend the Zoom online meeting @ 7pm 10th June\n– 2 day course at CFB Borden\nCourse Schedule:\n– Meet at 7.45 am at gate to Langemark Range (Do not be late)\, check in with Staff at gate. If gate is open proceed to the range\, leave all equipment in car and find a staff member to receive further instructions.\nHead Coach: Craig Samuel (aka Coach Sammy) is a:\n– Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) – Registered Coach with the Professional Coaching Program\n– Shooting Federation of Canada (SFC) – Shooting Instructor in ISSF (Olympic) shooting\, Certified in Pistol\, Rifle and Shotgun\n– SAFETY BRIEFING: For safety reasons If you are not present for the start of the Safety Briefing you will not be allowed to shoot.\n– READ THIS PLEASE: If you are not certain you will attend this Course DO NOT REGISTER.\n– REFUNDS: Refunds are available up until 45 days before the course\, less an Admin fee of $25. Under no circumstances can any payments be transferred to a future event or used by someone else.\n– DO NOT SPEED ON BASE. This is a training Base\, and MPs will ticket and possibly escort you off the Base. Follow Speed limit signs.\n50 km/h through centre of CFB Borden\, 60 Km/h on Range Road\, 15 Km/h on any range access road. Pass Marching Troops at a max of 15 km/h and less to be respectful.\n– MATCH CANCELLATION BY MILITARY:\nIf the event is cancelled by the Military because they need the Range\, then a full refund will be issued\, if an alternate date does not suit you. This is not common and usually done well in advance due to CAF Range requirements.\n– Because we shoot on a Military Range\, Range Control can shut us down for a high Fire Index\, Lightning or Storm Warning etc. This is out of our control\, and there is no refund in that scenario. I have seen it happen only once in the last 10 years\, but it’s part of shooting on a Military Range\, and must be stated.

SUMMARY:PNTC 2026 June 27 American Defender - Defensive Pistol Match
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the evolution of the defensive handgun match. American Defender takes the defensive elements of IDPA and injects them with the high-octane speed and target density of USPSA. This isn’t just about standing behind a barricade – it’s about explosive movement\, aggressive target transitions\, and maintaining critical accuracy under the stress. Utilizing a wide array of steel\, paper\, and moving targets\, this match offers something to challenge every level of shooter.\nFeaturing 5 stages of continuous action in a target rich environment here’s what to expect:\n•	Dynamic Scenarios: Move through diverse stages featuring cover\, and multiple target arrays.\n•	Stages are timed and scored using a simple Time-plus format.\n•	Tactical Problem Solving: You’ll face “shoot/no-shoot” decisions\, shooting from cover and shoot on the move style engagements.\n•	Shoot what you carry without concealment restrictions. Use of an open-carry or out-of-waistband is required.\n•	No power factor\, or concealment garments required.\nThe simplified rules and straight-forward divisions make this a good match for those new to competition or those who simply want to add a new level to their training. Shooting under a timer brings new challenges\, and forces you work “under pressure”. Formerly know at the Kahr Arms Defensive Pistol Match – numerous law enforcement officers – from Fairfax\, Frederick\, as well as here in West Virginia have routinely participated in these matches.\nCombining 12 years of experience designing competitive shooting matches with a professional background as a firearms instructor for DOS’s diplomatic security personnel\, David Doughty’s mission is to deliver a top tier competition at a club level price\, so shooters of all levels can continue to sharpen their skills. American Defender and 2 Gun are the two matches at Peacemaker specifically designed to add real-world value in a fun competitive shooting format.\nNOTE: This match will also have a separate Sunday offering. Scores will be combined and posted on Sunday afternoon. Shooters cannot re-shoot match on Sunday for score (in same division) but are welcome to shoot for fun!
