SUMMARY:Flagstaff Action Shooters USPSA for June
DESCRIPTION:This one is different! We are hosting an NROI Range Officer Training event this weekend\, and the RO candidates need to get some range time. So… we are moving the match to Sunday instead of Saturday.\nArrive thirty minutes early for check-in\, or ninety minutes early to help with set up.\n***Repeat: Sunday\, not Saturday***\nThe match will be at Prevail Training Center (formerly Camp Savage)\, and the fee will be $15 for FAS members\, $25 for non-members. Membership is $50 per year. Kids shoot free. This is payable at the range\, cash or check. We do NOT use PractiScore membership.\nDirections to Prevail Training Center: http://flagstaffactionshooters.org/location\nEye and ear protection are required\, even for spectators\, and you must be present at the safety briefing at the start of the match to participate. All shooters and observers must sign a waiver.\nWe operate under cold range rules. Do not exit your vehicle with a loaded weapon. The only time we handle firearms is at a “safe table” (without ammo)\, or at the at the firing line under the direction of a safety officer. Firearms remain unloaded until the safety officer directs the participant to “make ready.”\nNo SERPA or other trigger finger release holsters (unless permanently disabled and allowed by the match director or range master).\nPlan on a total round count of ~100-150\, many of us bring at least 200 rounds to be safe (or because we miss a lot).\nNOTE TO NEW SHOOTERS: You must have attended our Introduction to Action Shooting class. If you have not\, please email the Match Director to arrange for a briefing before the match.\nIf you are interested in the rules or further information\, here is a link to the rules: https://uspsa.org/viewer/2024-USPSA-Competition-Rules.pdf

SUMMARY:Hyatt Presents - June Steel Challenge!
DESCRIPTION:Schedule of events:\nMatch sign-in ends at 11:30 am\nMatch safety brief – 11:30 am\nMatch start – 12:00 pm\nMatch Fee – $20 for members / $30 for non-members\nA Steel Challenge match requires a minimum of 195 to 200 rounds if all eight official stages are shot without missing any targets. However\, it is strongly recommended that a competitor brings between 300 to 400 rounds to a match to account for misses\, malfunctions\, and potential reshoots. Holsters are required for centerfire handguns.\nWhen you arrive at our range\, head to the Pro Shop and sign in\, and pay for the match. Then head down to the pistol bays to be present for the safety briefing.\nAll participants are expected to assist with match teardown\nWe run a cold range. Please ensure your weapon is unloaded and no magazine is installed when you arrive. There will be a safe area for handling firearms. No ammo will be allowed in the safe areas. All of our matches operate as cold range events. This means that all firearms must remain unloaded\, pistols holstered\, and rifles slung or placed in carts with a chamber flag fully inserted INTO THE CHAMBER of the firearm unless under the direct supervision of an RO or safely handled while in a designated safe area or function fire area. Transport of firearms during a match. When moving any firearm from one location to another (such as stage to stage)\, the firearm will be COMPLETELY unloaded. Handguns will be holstered or bagged\, and rifles will be slung\, fully cased\, or carted with a chamber flag or empty chamber indicator (ECI) properly inserted into the chamber of the firearm.\nFood and beverages will be available for purchase after the match at the After Clays Restaurant and Bar. Match Participants will receive a $5.00 Voucher for the Grill (No Alcohol\, 1 Voucher per competitor)! Ammo\, firearms\, and shooting supplies can be purchased at the pro shop. Match competitors are eligible to purchase a day pass for the discounted rate of $20.00 if they wish to stay and shoot at our facility after the match. Please purchase this at the Pro shop.\nFor more information\, please see the Steel Challenge Rule book: https://uspsa.org/documents/rules/current/2025-SCSA-Rulebook.pdf\nIf you have any questions\, please call us (704) 826-6014 or email edeconde@gmail.com

SUMMARY:SLPSA June 14 Concealed Match
DESCRIPTION:This is a new concealed carry Hit Factor style match we are trying. It will be held on the Sunday immediately following the SLPSA USPSA #1 match. Stages will be reused from the main USPSA match\, making for a fun and accessible way to test your concealed carry skills.\nThe match will follow all USPSA safety and scoring rules. All Big Salty Range rules apply.\n——————– Rules ——————–\nAll competitors must be shooting from holstered concealment. This means that gear such as holsters\, firearms\, and spare magazines must be hidden from view and carried in a realistic\, practical manner. Bagged/off body carry is not allowed at this time due to the potential for DQ issues. Holsters that severely break the 180 (such as shoulder holsters or holsters with extreme cant) are not allowed.\nThe spirit of this match is real-world concealment\, so we are requiring IWB holsters. This is to prevent people from running things they don’t actually wear\, like IDPA-style “gamer vests” with OWB. If you genuinely carry OWB\, it will be allowed if the MD determines it does not violate the spirit of the match. Please validate with the MD ahead of time if you have any concerns.\nIt is entirely at the discretion of the MD to determine if you meet the intent of the match! If the MD sees shenanigans\, you can be moved to shooting for no score (with no recourse)\, or disallowed from further match participation.\nWe highly encourage people to run their actual carry setups to see how they perform.\n——————– Divisions ——————–\nMinimum caliber is .380 ACP. While we would like to accommodate those brave souls that carry .25 ACP pop guns\, it just isn’t practical from a match management perspective. Perhaps in the future we can have a backup gun division\, but for now it is .380 or higher.\nThe divisions are all capacity-based with no other accessory restrictions. So feel free to run your carry gun with a comp\, port\, thumb rest\, magwell\, optics\, irons\, etc. Holster-capable PDWs like the P365 Raider are allowed\, provided you are IWB with it in a manner you would actually carry.\n– Small Cap – 8 max rounds in the magazine (or cylinder). Represents your smaller carry guns or revolvers. In order to help low cap be competitive and not need a huge amount of spare mags to reload\, small cap division hits are scored as a 2x the hit\, e.g.\, one alpha becomes two alphas. So you typically only need one hit per target.\n– Factory Cap – 18 max rounds in the magazine. Represents your traditional factory capacity magazines.\n– Modern Cap – 25 max rounds in the magazine. Represents the growing capacity of modern carry setups.\nAll questions or comments can be directed to the Match Director Rory Norman at admin@slpsa.org.\nSUNDAY\n8:00 AM – Range Open\, function fire can be done in an empty bay under the direction of an RO.\n8:00 AM – Staple fresh targets\, help with stage changes if any are needed.\n8:30 AM – New shooter brief. As it is concealed only\, this match requires a higher level of skill and attention to safety\, so if you are a totally new shooter this might not be the right environment to start at. That said\, we will have a new shooter brief for anyone who needs it\, likely in Cemetery Bay. Refer to the new shooter brief on the website if needed (https://slpsa.org/new-shooter-help/)\n9:00 AM – All Shooter Meeting\n9:15 AM – First shots (after the shooter meeting has concluded)\n3:00 PM – Approximate end of match. Empty trash\, take down all paper targets.
