SUMMARY:SLPSA June 14 Concealed Match
DESCRIPTION:This is a new concealed carry Hit Factor style match we are trying. It will be held on the Sunday immediately following the SLPSA USPSA #1 match. Stages will be reused from the main USPSA match\, making for a fun and accessible way to test your concealed carry skills.\nThe match will follow all USPSA safety and scoring rules. All Big Salty Range rules apply.\n——————– Rules ——————–\nAll competitors must be shooting from holstered concealment. This means that gear such as holsters\, firearms\, and spare magazines must be hidden from view and carried in a realistic\, practical manner. Bagged/off body carry is not allowed at this time due to the potential for DQ issues. Holsters that severely break the 180 (such as shoulder holsters or holsters with extreme cant) are not allowed.\nThe spirit of this match is real-world concealment\, so we are requiring IWB holsters. This is to prevent people from running things they don’t actually wear\, like IDPA-style “gamer vests” with OWB. If you genuinely carry OWB\, it will be allowed if the MD determines it does not violate the spirit of the match. Please validate with the MD ahead of time if you have any concerns.\nIt is entirely at the discretion of the MD to determine if you meet the intent of the match! If the MD sees shenanigans\, you can be moved to shooting for no score (with no recourse)\, or disallowed from further match participation.\nWe highly encourage people to run their actual carry setups to see how they perform.\n——————– Divisions ——————–\nMinimum caliber is .380 ACP. While we would like to accommodate those brave souls that carry .25 ACP pop guns\, it just isn’t practical from a match management perspective. Perhaps in the future we can have a backup gun division\, but for now it is .380 or higher.\nThe divisions are all capacity-based with no other accessory restrictions. So feel free to run your carry gun with a comp\, port\, thumb rest\, magwell\, optics\, irons\, etc. Holster-capable PDWs like the P365 Raider are allowed\, provided you are IWB with it in a manner you would actually carry.\n– Small Cap – 8 max rounds in the magazine (or cylinder). Represents your smaller carry guns or revolvers. In order to help low cap be competitive and not need a huge amount of spare mags to reload\, small cap division hits are scored as a 2x the hit\, e.g.\, one alpha becomes two alphas. So you typically only need one hit per target.\n– Factory Cap – 18 max rounds in the magazine. Represents your traditional factory capacity magazines.\n– Modern Cap – 25 max rounds in the magazine. Represents the growing capacity of modern carry setups.\nAll questions or comments can be directed to the Match Director Rory Norman at admin@slpsa.org.\nSUNDAY\n8:00 AM – Range Open\, function fire can be done in an empty bay under the direction of an RO.\n8:00 AM – Staple fresh targets\, help with stage changes if any are needed.\n8:30 AM – New shooter brief. As it is concealed only\, this match requires a higher level of skill and attention to safety\, so if you are a totally new shooter this might not be the right environment to start at. That said\, we will have a new shooter brief for anyone who needs it\, likely in Cemetery Bay. Refer to the new shooter brief on the website if needed (https://slpsa.org/new-shooter-help/)\n9:00 AM – All Shooter Meeting\n9:15 AM – First shots (after the shooter meeting has concluded)\n3:00 PM – Approximate end of match. Empty trash\, take down all paper targets.

SUMMARY:BTSA 8 stage Steel Challenge June 14 2026
DESCRIPTION:What?\nOur weekend 8-stage Steel challenge matches are an opportunity for BTSA club members and shooters from the broader community to compete use all 8 of the official stages. Novice and experience shooters are welcome provided you can safely handle your firearm. Brand new shooters may want to check out a Wednesday night steel event for a more relaxed introduction to the sport\nWe shoot all of the standard divisions. All scores will be submitted to USPSA. Shooters with current USPSA membership will have all 8 stages count towards their classification. \nWhere?\nBTSA range bays 1\,2\,3\,4\,5. Shooters may drop their gear at the top but please park down the road or in the lot as parking at the top is needed for match staff. The main road gate and BTSA gates will be opened at about 8:00 am \nWhen?\nGates open 8am\, setup 8:30\, mandatory safety briefing 9\, lunch break after 4 stages (~noon)\, tear down ~3:30pm\nAll shooters must be present for the safety briefing or they will not be allowed to shoot. \nCost?\nBTSA members- $10 per gun. Max 2 guns per session\nNon-members- $20 per gun. Max 2 guns per session\nJuniors (under 18\, member and non-member)- 1 gun free per match \nHow to register?\nRegistration is through Practiscore. Please search BTSA 8 stage steel and look for the correct date. Shooters need to be registered by 7pm on the night before the match so that we can confirm squadding and load the scoring tablets. All participants will need to help score/paint/time.\nWho to contact with questions?\nPlease email steel@btsa.club \nItems to bring to the match\nWater\nFood\nSunscreen\nHat\nEye/ear protection (required to participate)\nLunch\nTimer if you have one\nGun\nchamber flag for pcc/rimfire\n5+ mags: Please pre-load your magazines at home when possible so that we can begin on time.\nAmmo: 195 rounds minimum for 8 stages for each gun. Experienced shooters should bring ~300. Novice shooters should bring 500.\nHolster for any Center fire handguns that fully covers the trigger.\nGun belt for holster divisions \nMatch results\nMatch results will be posted to PractiScore\, usually the same night. If you need your results anonymized\, please contact the match director well in advance of the match. \nFirst time competitors/new to steel challenge\nPlease contact steel@btsa.club if you will be coming out for your first steel challenge. When you arrive\, please leave all your gear in your vehicle and identify yourself to a match official/person in charge. We will place you on a squad with some experienced competitors to help get you started. We will likely need to split up groups of inexperienced shooters/competitors for both safety and efficiency but will try to keep families together where possible. Please note\, when a family member is on the line\, they are under the care of the range officer. Please do not distract them from following the RO’s instructions. If the RO is unfamiliar with the operation of your particular firearm\, they will ask for assistance as needed. If a shooter would like coaching or advice while you are shooting\, please let the RO know and they should be happy to oblige. \nA note regarding classifications\nClassifications are used to help competitors measure their success against shooter shooting with a similar ability and skill set. A D class production shooter and a Grand Master rimfire rifle open shooter can’t be equally compared. In order to earn a classification\, you must be a current USPSA member and complete any 4 stages in a single division. \nRule book\nThe official steel challenge rule book governs all of our matches please make sure to give it a read through so that you are familiar with the rules\, commands\, and equipment divisions.\nhttps://scsa.org/rules \nSafety\nWhile no one wants to disqualify (DQ) a shooter\, safety is our top priority. If you commit a serious safety infraction\, as noted in the rules\, you will be done shooting for the day. Any scores completed to that point will stand but you will not be able to continue shooting the match. It will be up to the match director’s discretion as to whether you may remain on the range. If you are permitted to remain to watch friends/family shoot\, you may not handle any uncased firearms for the remainder of the day. Example of serious\, DQ-able\, violation include\, but are not limited to\, Ammo on the safe table\, loaded firearms off the firing line\, negligent discharge of a firearm\, muzzle sweeping yourself or others\, picking up a dropped gun\, and dropping a loaded gun during a course of fire.\nRefunds\nIf you are withdrawing from the match\, please email steel@btsa.club for the most timely refund. Refunds for voluntary withdrawals will be less credit card processing fees and must be received by the registration closing date so we have a chance to attempt to fill the empty slot. If the match needs to be cancelled due to conditions or unexpected events\, a full refund will be issued less any unrecoverable expenses (none are typical for weekend matches and this applies more to provincial/national matches)
