DESCRIPTION:NOTICE:  SIG P320 pistols are once again allowed at Action Pistol Matches (and all other applicable matches) at WRPC.  This comes from the club’s Safety Committee based on discussion of available information as of February 21\, 2026.\nNOTICE:  Required starting condition for CZ Shadow\, 75 and similar pistols will be with the hammer resting on a safety notch (manuf. recommended).  Start will not be allowed with the hammer fully forward as it would not be in a safety notch.\nAction Pistol.  Mix of IDPA and USPSA targets with points down scoring and relaxed rules on cover\, concealment\, reloads\, target engagement order.  No compromises on safety!  Penalties will be called according to the latest IDPA Rule Book.  As of this writing that’s the 2026 version.  Hearing protection and safety glasses with side shields or wrap around design required.\nMatch is weather dependent.  If there is a weather cancellation\, you will be notified by e-mail no later than 7:00 PM the day before the match.  This will allow us to check the hourly forecast out until noon the day of the match.

SUMMARY:Long Gong Clear Spring\, May (4th Saturday)
DESCRIPTION:WELCOME TO LONG GONG @ Izaak Walton Clear Spring!!\nTHE GAME- This is a 300 yd. shooting challenge using any rifles chambered in .22 LR only. The object is to\nShoot the highest score possible.\nTHE TARGET- The targets are AR400 1/8″ thick rimfire gongs\, an 8”\, a 6”\, and a 4” gong. Each gong has a value\, 1 point for the 8”\, 2 points for the 6”\, and 3 points for the 4” gong.\nTHE SETUP- From a bench rest (limited to bipods and bags\, no sleds) each shooter\, with 10 rounds of ammunition begins by shooting for the 8” gong. The shooter has a 3-minute time limit to complete their round\, the clock starts with their first shot.\nTHE ORDER- If the shooter hits the 8”\, they score 1 point and now can choose to advance to the 6” gong or continue shooting for the 8” gong. If the shooter advances to the 6” gong and connects\, that hit is worth 2 points\, and they now can choose to shoot for the 4” gong.\nTHE RULES- The shooter must tell the scorekeeper when they switch gongs. A hit only counts if it’s a solid gong hit\, chain or hanger hits do not count. If the shooter misses\, they must go back one gong. If the shooter shoots the wrong gong\, it counts as a zero and the shooter must resume shooting on the correct gong.\nTHE SCORE- The score is totaled after each shooter\, with a possible high score of 27 points (1+2+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3=27). A complete game has every shooter fire 5 complete sets for a total of 50 rounds of ammunition (1 full box). The highest possible score for a competition is 135 points. In case of a tie score\, the winner is determined by the shooter with the highest single round score.\nTHE COMPETITORS- The order of the shooters in the first set is determined by drawing numbered chips\, and in each successive set the order of the shooters is determined by the scores\, with the lowest score shooting first. If two or more shooters have identical scores\, whoever shot the score initially will shoot first in the following round. (If Tom shoots an 11\, and then Dave also shoots an 11\, Tom will go before Dave in the following round.)\nTHE CHALLENGE- Hitting gongs at 300 yds. with a .22 LR is challenging. Hitting them repeatedly under changing conditions requires all the fundamentals used by the best long-distance shooters in the world. Do you think you have what it takes?\nNote: We will mix the distances up in the beginning matches (i.e.\, 2 rounds @ 200 yards\, then 3 rounds @ 300 yards).\nWe will give a one 5 minute sight in time before the 1st round @ 200 yds of the match on a 11″ x 18″ steel plate only. DESCRIPTION:Mid Carolina Rifle Club will be hosting an official Galactic Pistol Alliance match in May. PAR time for the match has been set at 95.7 seconds. The stages will be simple and easy to construct and tear down.\nGPA has been in development and evolving since December of 2022. Here are a few features that make GPA such a blast!\n-No concealment garment required.\n-½ second scoring.\n-Every stage may have up to 24 required shots. More shooting equals more fun!\n-Ammo management is entirely the responsibility of the shooter.\n-You can load your mags to capacity and carry as many as you want.\n-Every stage requires one mandatory reload after the first shot and before the last. You decide when and where to\ndo it.\n-You dropped a magazine with rounds in it? It’s legal! No PE!\n-Targets may be required to be shot while you are moving.\n-Any stage can have an unlimited number of steel targets as well as unlimited non-threats!\n-With few exceptions\, whatever equipment you are using in another pistol sport is probably legal in GPA. At MCRC\, we will add a few divisions\, even though they are not classified by GPA: PCC (Pistol Caliber Carbine) and RIM (Rimfire).\n-The rulebook is clear\, concise\, unambiguous and only 12 pages long!

DESCRIPTION:2 Gun on the 4th Saturday in Parma.  Plan on 4-5 stages with about 10-12 rounds per gun per stage.  Setup at 0800\, be on time to help setup and stay around to tear down.\nIgnore shotgun portion for 2 gun.\nScoped Tactical—Rifle has one magnified optic on it.  Can have a muzzle brake\, can use extended mags and drum mags\, can have only one optic on it\, back up irons ok.  Pistol can use extended mags up to 140mm\, cannot have muzzle break or optics.  Shotgun must start stage with 8+1 rounds\, after start can hold more.  No box fed shotguns and no optics or muzzle brakes.\nLimited—all Guns same as Scoped Tactical\, except rifle may only have a 1x red dot or iron sights.\nOpen—Race division.  All the guns can have optics\, muzzle brakes\, extended mags\, mag fed shotguns\, rifles can use bipods and or bags. Bags must start attached to the rifle.\n2×4—super open.  Adds a 4th gun\, the PCC. Same rules as open\, can use optics\, extended mags\, etc\, etc\,  Must use at least 2 guns on every stages\, if there are clays they must be shot with shotgun.\nModern Optics-Designed to land between Open and Scope Tac.  Pistol: Holster rules are the same as for Tactical/Limited/HM (i.e. no race holsters). Use whatever pistol you want\, so long as the pistol with your longest magazine inserted fits in the official box with slide parallel to the top of the box. The maximum internal dimensions of this box are 9” x 7” x 2”. Rifle: Use whatever rifle and optics you want. A bipod is allowed\, but not bags or other support devices. Only 30 round magazines may be used. Coupled 30 round mags ok. Shotgun: Only a tube magazine is allowed\, and the magazine tube must be no longer than 24”measured from the front of the receiver. Loading must be by hand from caddies (i.e. no speed loaders). Optics are allowed.
