The Defender Outdoors Clay Sports Ranch Spring League is an 8 week shooting league where you’ll squad up and compete for awards and bragging rights. Then we’ll all get together at the end to party it up and toast to a season well shot! \nWHEN:\nStart the week of March 18th\, Shoot on 3/18\, 3/25\, 4/1\, 4/8\, SKIP 4/15 week due to State\, 4/22\, 4/29\, 5/6\, 5/13 and League Dinner Party/Awards on May 20th \n***Teams and Individuals can shoot anytime between Wednesday at 10AM and Sunday close of business each week.*** \nBASICS:\nLeague scores based on 50 targets per week.   \n(Practice course and 5-stand will also be available prior and after weekly rounds)  \nTARGETS:\nEnjoyable targets will be set by Gary Madigan and Team \nPRICE:\nPrice for league is $290 for all 8 weeks which includes the League Party dinner/awards.   \nTEAMS:\nA team is required to have a minimum of 4 shooters and a maximum of 6 shooters. Team scores will take the highest 4 shooters including handicap for the weekly total. Team rosters must be finalized by the end of the first week. Individual shooters will be grouped to form teams as needed\, and each shooter may compete on only one team per league. \nHANDICAPS:\nHandicaps are calculated by using the shooter’s weekly score\, then subtracting it from “par”\, which is 45 and multiplying the difference times .70 (70%) Example: If a shooter’s score is 30 the equation is 45-30=15 x .70 = 10.5. the product (in the example 10.5) will be added to the shooter’s score. Handicaps adjusted each week. Maximum score with handicap is 45. \nWEATHER and MAKE-UP ROUNDS:\nIf you are not able to make it on the scheduled evening\, bank scores must be made up by Sunday of that week or you will be given an average of 2 other weeks scores for that week. DESCRIPTION:22 Rimfire and Air guns only- Silhouette target shooting at the MPR. \nOffhand/Standing shooting at Metal Animal silhouettes with rifles or pistols\, open or scoped sights allowed. \nBenches are available during this practice period every Wednesday \nMembers of all 5 clubs are welcome.\n Fees are collected at the Multi Purpose Range\, not at the USI Clubhouse .\nThe MPR is the building on the right hand side as you pass the Public Range\, but before the Impalement Arts Range.\nLook for the red MPR flag on the flag post- that’s us!\n\nUSI waiver and a Blue Card issued from the USI clubhouse required prior to the match- there is no charge to these one time processes.\n\nA silhouette is a steel profile of an animal (chicken\, pig\, turkey\, or ram) standing on a pedestal. The object of the game is to knock as many silhouettes as possible off the stand\, shooting one round at each silhouette. It is a very simple competition\, with very simple scoring: Knocking an animal off its stand counts as a hit.\n\nAlthough silhouette is an easy game to learn\, it is not an easy game to master. The animals are rather small and the distances can reach out a bit; you must shoot offhand (standing); a moderate breeze can move a bullet or a pellet the width of an animal; your concentration becomes more difficult to hold as you knock down five in a row or with a close miss.  Silhouette is an endless challenge that makes you a better shooter!\nThis is a reoccurring event every Week- we intend to host this practice barring weather or extraordinary barriers preventing the event from occurring in a safe environment. DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the Thurmont Wednesday Steel Challenge Match.\nMATCH DESCRIPTION:\nThis match will consist of 8 Official Steel Challenge stages.\nRound count will be approximately 195+. Bring extra ammo\, as it there is none available for purchase at the facility.\nRULES:\nThis is a Tier 1 local Steel Challenge match and we will abide by the rules of Steel Challenge Shooting Association.\nAll SCSA divisions as well as LO\, RRI\, and RRO are included.  So let’s see those Wheel Guns.\nThough you may register in multiple divisions\, you may only register once in any individual division.\nSCORING:\nWe will use the normal Steel Challenge Scoring.\nSAFETY AREAS:\nThurmont is a COLD range. Firearms must be unloaded at all times except during the match under the direct supervision of a Range Safety Officer (RO). HANDLING OF FIREARMS AT VEHICLES IS PROHIBITED. Long guns must have an EMPTY CHAMBER INDICATOR (Chamber Flag) IN PLACE at all times starting from the moment the rifle is uncased for placement in a gun cart or brought to the shooting position. Pistols may be unbagged and holstered ONLY at designated Safety Areas or unbagged under the direction of a RO/SO at the shooting position.\nSafety Areas are clearly marked with signs.  If the table doesn’t have a sign marked “Safety Area” then it isn’t one and Gun Handling is not allowed there but ammunition handling is.\nNO AMMUNITION HANDLING in safety areas. Note that cinder block and plywood walls ARE NOT safety areas. Use of suppressors is not prohibited but the match director can not assure accurate times.\nAll pistol calibers permitted. I.e.\, 9mm\, 38super\, .40S&W\, 45ACP\, .38 Special\, 44 Special\, 45LC\, .and 22lr rimfire. As per SCSA rules the maximum velocity for any Handgun or Pistol Caliber Carbine shooting steel is 1600fps. The use of ANY Steel core\, or steel (bimetal) jacketed ammunition (even with permitted calibers) is PROHIBITED on our steel will be an immediate disqualification and the shooter will be financially responsible for damage to the steel plates.\nMatch fees:\nNon-TCSC members:\n$20 for Adult 1st gun\n$15 for Junior (13 through 17) 1st gun\n$10 for Preteen (12 and under) 1st gun\n$10 for 2nd gun.\nTCSC members:\n$5 Club Member discount on above fees for 1st gun\n$10 for 2nd gun.\nOnline via Credit Card\nIf you can not pay via Credit Card online and need to pay Cash on the day of the match\, contact us at tcsc.steel@gmail.com and\, on rare exception we will send you a link. After the first stage is shot the squad by majority vote will declare how the stages 2\, 3 & 4 will be shot (moving targets\, reshoot\, different start positions\, etc.). DESCRIPTION:The Eastern Iowa Law Enforcement Practical Shooting Group May hit factor match is scheduled for Wednesday\, May 20\, 2026 at the West Liberty Gun Club. Registration is limited to current and former law enforcement officers only. Agency name must be entered at registration for verification only and will not be publicly visible.\nWe will shoot four stages with a total round count of 100-120.  One stage will be a current USPSA classifier.  This is not a USPSA sanctioned match so the classifier will not count for classification.\nDivisions: Open\, Limited\, Production\, Carry Optics\, Limited Optics following USPSA division guidelines. If you are uncertain or undecided\, please select “Unknown” and we will help you at check in.\nRequired Equipment: Pistol\, at least three magazines\, holster\, at least one magazine pouch\, eye and ear protection. You do not need to bring your duty gun/gear (although you certainly may) and you do not need a special “competition” gun or gear.\nThere are squads set for 1130\, 1330\, and 1530 hours to attempt to accommodate varying schedules. If you cannot arrive exactly at those times\, we will work with you to get you through the stages. Show up when you can.  Groups are welcome to register and squad together. SUMMARY:NCRR Rimfire Rifle 5-20-26
DESCRIPTION:Rimfire Rifle consists of 4 stages of fire.\nEach stage has 5 reactive targets at 25 yards. 4 regular targets and 1 stop plate target.\nShooters will shoot the 4 regular targets first and then the stop plate to stop the clock.\nEach stage consists of 5 strings of fire\, the best 4 of the 5 strings are used to calculate your score.\nShooters have 30 seconds to shoot the 5 targets. Any targets not hit before the stop plate incurs a penalty for each target. Each penalty adds 3 seconds to the shooters score.\nScoring is a combination of your time plus any penalties for missed targets.\nFastest time wins.\nThere are 3 divisions for Rimfire Rifle:\nLimited: ­ Iron sights only\nOpen: ­ Red dot sights and scopes are allowed\nBolt: Bolt action or lever action no restriction on sights\nEquipment needed: 22 rimfire rifle with at least 5 magazines.\nAmmunition – Bring along at least 150 rounds. 100+ for the match and some extras for “do overs” or malfunctions.\nEye and ear protection is required at all times.\nAt this time we are unable to take Credit/Debit Cards\, Registration fee is Cash Only.
