DESCRIPTION:NOT A SASS sanctioned match but in the spirit of;\nCowboy Action Shooting Event on the 75-yard range.\nCowboy Action Shooting (CAS) is a sport where competitors fire cowboy era rifles\, pistols and shotguns at metal targets.\nFor this season\, CAS will be held every 4th  Saturday of the month from March to October\, weather permitting.\nMembers and guests sign-up is on the day of the shoot at the range. Members pay $5.00 and guest pay $10.00.\nShooting will start at 10:00 with  assisting with the set-up at 9:00 am. and a safety meeting at 9:45\nThe Cowboy Action event is an interactive sport where shooters help with scoring\, spotting\, and timing when they are not shooting. Additionally\, help is needed to tare down. The event coordinator would appreciate shooters arriving by 9:30 shooting starts at 10am.\nYou will need two single action revolvers with a holster. A lever action rifle chambered in a pistol caliber\, 38 Special\, 357 Magnum\, 45 Auto or Long Colt cartridge\, etc… and a tubular magazine for loading 8 to 10 rounds. Additionally\, a western style double-barrel shotgun is needed. Alternatively\, a Winchester Model 1897 can be used.\nYou will also need to wear Jeans\, a long sleeve western shirt\, cowboy boots or equivalent\, and a cowboy hat. Safety glasses and hearing protection are mandatory.\nIf you’re missing one of the above firearms\, we will try to connect you with a shooter that will lend you what you need when it’s your turn to shoot.\nA gun cart is handy but new shooters might ask someone with a cart to share. We will also have a table near the loading bench so you can store your firearms there.\nWe recommend 2 boxes of pistol caliber ammo for your revolver and rifle.\,  LEAD BULLETS ONLY\, and 1 box of shotgun shells (25 rounds) low brass\, light loads\, with no larger than #7 1/2 shot.

SUMMARY:Oil Capital Defensive Practical Rifle Jun 27 2026
DESCRIPTION:The Defensive Practical Rifle Match is a shooting sport that uses practical rifles/carbines and equipment suitable for real world use\, including full charge service ammunition\, to solve simulated real world self-defense scenarios.   While primarily a rifle/carbine event\, pistols also sometimes used in a stage with them.   Rules require practical use of cover.\nSlings are required before and after a stage; may be removed during a stage.  Empty chamber flags required.  Other safety and operational rules in effect.\nStages are limited to not more than 24 rounds\, usually nearer 12.  Typical match is 6 stages.  Scoring is shooter’s time\, plus target points down\, plus penalties.  Distances do not exceed 75 yards\, with average around 25 yards.  Some required shots will require precision.  Others are fired on the move or weak shoulder.  Rifle targets are IDPA cardboard.  Pistol targets\, normally around 10-15 yards\, may be cardboard or reactive steel.\nCompetitors will be sent the day’s gate code the evening prior\, through Practiscore. Those not pre-registered/observers will need to text the phone number(s) posted on the 101st St gate pedestal the day of the event for that day’s entry code. Bring exact change for match fee.

If you’re unsure\, just bring what you have and we’ll get you sorted at check-in. If you’re a new shooter\, please arrive close to 9:30\, leave your guns in the car\, and come talk to us at registration about range safety rules.\n###\n# Fees\n###\nMatch fees are $15 for ORSA members\, $20 for public\, and $5 for juniors. SUMMARY:Cedar Fork Precision Steel GAS GUN ONLY
DESCRIPTION:PRS style Gas Gun (semi-auto only) match.  Long range center-fire rifle on steel targets from 350 yards out to 600 or so. This match is NOT necessarily suited for LPVO rifles but is still good training.  There will be 6 stages\, limited to 25 shooters. Scoring for this match will be “Time Plus” scoring with with all targets being designated as “Hit to advance” and have a 20 round limit per stage so a maximum of 120 rounds but there will only be 54 or so potential target engagements. There will be a video posted on the Cedar Fork Precision YouTube page (prior to the first match) discussing the changes and examples of how these stages are shot and scored. These matches are definitely friendly to the shooter that has not stretched the legs of their rifle as well as the highly experienced distance shooter. I as the match director and owner of the range my intent is to establish as much of a learning and enjoyable environment as possible. This will be a season long points race. You only need to shoot a total of two matches to qualify for the finale planed for September 19th\, 2026. Details will he filled in as the season progresses.
